Mom said you might like to know what my day is like. Well, first mom gets up and scratches my head for at least 20 minutes. Yep, that's how my day starts. Then I eat breakfast:
See my dishes? Dad gave me those for Christmas! Pretty fancy, huh?
Then mom and dad buzz around getting the RV ready to go. They stick me in my cage and I yell and yell with indignation. It's not nice of them to leave me out of the action.
Finally it's time to go. I get to sit on mom's shoulder, because if I sit in my cage I fall off my perch. It's not a pretty sight.
Sometimes mom gives me another head scratch. When she is finished, I always preen. It's important to make all my feathers look nice.
After I preen I go to sleep. It's easier than watching all those big noisy trucks pass. Watching them is really exhausting.
Finally we stop for lunch. Lee usually shares his lunch with me. His lunch is always more interesting than mom's. She eats yogurt and fruit. I do not like yogurt and fruit.
Sometimes mom and dad take a walk at lunch time. They leave me all by myself with those riDICulous parakeets, Beanie and Barney.
The best part of my day is when we finally stop. Sometimes I sit on top of my cage to see what everyone is doing. It's best to be in a high place to see what's happening. Every good cockatiel knows this.
My favorite, favorite part of the day is when dad and I take a nap. That's the best.
My mom says to tell everyone that tomorrow we will be in Idaho for a family reunion, for five days. You might not hear from us until afterwards.
It's my family reunion too. You know why? Because we are visiting my real parents. I was hatched in mom's uncle's aviary, and his wife fed me and my siblings by hand with an eye dropper once every four hours for three weeks. I wonder if I will remember her? I think I will like her alot.
I am so tired. We traveled for a long time today and I am ready for bed. Good night, everybody.
