The Adirondack Mountains

In the 24 years we lived in Newtown Square, Lee and I never visited the Adirondacks.  We finally made it to Lake George and the the Adirondacks Museum in mid-August.  Lake George is long and narrow, surrounded by mountains.  Ticonderoga is at the far northern end, 32 miles from the town of Lake George at the southern end.

Boats have given tours of the lake since the 1870's.  One steamship still operates on the lake:

We took a boat tour, and enjoyed many different views:

The clouds on this particular day added magical beauty to the water and mountains:

Look at this wonderful Adirondack home.  It is on a small island, accessible by boat only.

We spent one day at the Adirondacks Museum.  I love this chair!  It's too big for the RV, though.

The museum is in the center of the Adirondacks, and looks over Blue Mountain Lake, one of hundreds of lakes in the region.

The Adirondacks were a great experience, in every way.  What a beautiful area.
