A Short Note on Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen is situated at the southern tip of Lake Seneca, one of the Finger Lakes of central New York.  The Finger Lakes, by the way, were created by receding glaciers (just like Yosemite Valley).  The micro-climate of the lake allows for the growing of grapes for wine, which has become a big industry and tourist draw here.  Watkins Glen is also known for its speedway, an irregularly shaped race course.  The first races actually went through the town of Watkins Glen.
