Geysers and Colors of Yellowstone

This post will be mostly photographs of the Yellowstone, from the first day.  The internet is slow here, so I will do one day at a time.

 

Madison River, again.  Backdrop is of an area burned by a lightening strike in 1988.  This wildfire consumed about 1/3 of the park, the largest ever in Yellowstone's recorded history.

"Spasm Geyser"

The crowd, waiting for Old Faithful.  There were four or five times as many people here as there were 35 years ago.  The number of benches has expanded considerably.
