Jenny Lake

Jenny Lake is south of Lake Jackson and Mount Moran. It is a smaller lake, and is nestled right up against the mountains. We took a boat cruise on the lake to learn more about it. The views were terrific, we were so close to those massive rock pinnacles.

We started off with lunch at the Jenny Lake Lodge:



then boarded the boat for a relaxing afternoon and fabulous views:












There was a forest fire on this hillside a few years ago:


The shoreline is beautiful, and steep!  The lake, created by a glacier, is over 200 feet deep over 80% of the lake bottom:

A family of barn swallows live in a nest under the eves of the visitor center:
